Eclipse v3 M7 is the third Eclipse release I’ve tried. Everyone keeps raving about it but I still haven’t actually used it. As a user, the first problem you encounter is downloading the feckin’ thing. After going to the correct download mirror you’re presented with this choice:

R-2.0-200206271835 13-Jan-2003 572.7M of files inside

R-2.0.1-200208291828 13-Jan-2003 585.5M of files inside

R-2.0.2-200211071448 04-Apr-2003 583.6M of files inside

R-2.1-200303272130 22-Oct-2003 721.6M of files inside

R-2.1.1-200306271545 21-Jan-2004 730.8M of files inside

R-2.1.2-200311030802 21-Jan-2004 731.0M of files inside

S-3.0M1-200306051737 07-Oct-2003 754.7M of files inside

S-3.0M2-200307181617 02-Dec-2003 777.5M of files inside

S-3.0M3-200308281813 07-Oct-2003 788.7M of files inside

S-3.0M4-200310101454 13-Feb-2004 728.2M of files inside

S-3.0M5-200311211210 13-Feb-2004 787.3M of files inside

S-3.0M6-200312182000 13-Feb-2004 816.1M of files inside

S-3.0M7-200402122000 13-Feb-2004 863.6M of files inside

So, I take a guess and try S-3.0M7-200402122000 and get presented with these options:

Huh? Now I’m really confused. I’ve narrowed the choices down to eclipse-platform-3.0M7-win32.zip or eclipse-SDK-3.0M7-win32.zip. Is the SDK version the development environment itself or the SDK for Eclipse? It’s no wonder I prefer NetBeans – at least I can download it!

P.S. the other annoying thing about Eclpise is that I can’t spell it.
