There’s a nasty little flame war going on over Atom, again. I must admit that I agree with Russ – PUT and DELETE, whilst in the HTTP spec are not something you will implement unless you’re going to claim full HTTP 1.1 compliance. I wrote my own http transport for j2me (not midp) and I only supported GET (i think) plus the multi-part MIME content stuff because that’s all I needed. So unless you’re aiming at Atom support, what other protocols use PUT and DELETE? Why would you have implemented them? Reality vs. Theory. Practicallities vs. Idealisms.
