I’m no fan of 3G networks but I received a free Vodafone 3G datacard from Dabs the other week (because I bought my laptop from them last year) so I thought I’d see if it works. Apparently it does, and quite nicely. It might be useful in some life-or-death, I must get online situation.
Now I’m going to go before I use up the free £10 credit and they start asking for my first born son.

I was very interested in 3G for mobile use until I realised the cost for data transfer was just the same (lots!) as for GPRS, well on Orange anyway. So thought it best I stay well away. Wish the price would come down

Yeah, apparently this is a pay-as-you-use tarrif charged at £2.50ish/MB so my £10 free credit isn’t going to last long.
