I've got used to "git checkout", it makes sense when you think of it as "Checking out of the local repository".

The tagging flag is a valid point. I wonder if that happened on the Shoes project, because there are references to it in the Rakefile, but there were never any actual tags in the Github repository. Which makes for fun and games trying to figure out when an actual release occurred.

Mind you, if it wasn't for Git, all of _why's work would have been lost.
