Hi Malcolm ,
really glad that the operation has been a sucess for you. Thanks so much to you and everyone who has come back to post as it really does keep those of us still waiting going! I have been reading back over old posts during last few days so I can begin to make plans and prepare for the op next week. More worried at moment about avoiding the cold bug that half of my family has come down with over last few days as I have been told can't have surgery if I catch it!
Anyway good luck with the liver tests, let us know how you get on! Hopefully they will just put your mind at rest and that you will find your recovery back on track soon
all the best

Hi everyone and especially Malcom and Jason we re old friends pre gall stone removal and after lol

To answer your question Malcom I am 2 years on from my op and up until this last christmas had no side effects at all, but then at christmas I over indulged to say the least and it ended up with my telling my husband i was having mini gb attacks which of course is impossible as I don t have one !!!

Long story short I had them 3 nights in a row and then for 2 weeks went back on my old diet , bland foos no alcohol etc and yes it went away, i really do think my digestive system couldn t cope.

Quite often have the bloated feeling after i ve eaten and i know i ve overdone it, my cousin had the op in Oz 6 months ago and he is having a lot of problems with eating almost anyhting so i guess we are lucky

We ll whatever i am glad its gone and to everyone waiting ... its worth the wait

Take care all

Hi Vicky,
Thanks for your reply I will contact the doctor about the liver test I never thought about doing that,as for your operation best of luck I am sure everything will be ok keep me informed of your progress,
I had my operation key hole 6th September 2012 ,I had the op 10am and was home by 6pm that day, I was very sore for a few weeks stitches were taken out after three weeks and I took three weeks off work looking back I should have taken six weeks was not fit to return after the three weeks. I am still careful what I eat but generally until the last week I feel so much better. The operation has changed my life for the better if I have heartburn its now mild and controlled with gaviscon..
                  Take care Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

I have had probs with my liver in past and can get a bit jaundiced when unwell. Was a little concerned as from what i read gallballder removal could put more pressure on my liver as liver would have to take over to break down fat. My surgeoun ok with this and think it will cope. But just wondering if the discomfort you are expereincing (which sounds similar to what i have had in past) might be liver related. might be worth going to get it checked out and have a liver fnction test done at the doctors.May be just a little diet adjustment to settle in down again.

I had my pre op yesterday and booked in for next week on Wednesday. for my op. Have to say not looking forward to it at all as took me long long time to recover from my last c section. But all the post op advice on here so helpful thanks to everyone for coming back and sharing
