Photo Planet

I heard yesterday that Sony are going to release a small GPS unit that will allow you to tag your photos with a GPS position and view them in Google Maps. Well, my PhD wasn’t going anywhere and I needed a 24 hour distraction, so I wrote my own python script to take a GPS tracklog and a collection of photos, and plot the thumbnails in Google Earth.

The resulting script is here and I must say I’m very happy with the result for a few hours work.
